Know Your City

Hosted By - Super Strikers

The Sunday Meet explored the theme “Know Your City”, encouraging participants to step beyond familiar places and discover Hyderabad through research, exploration, observation, and presentation.

As part of the activity, participants explored different parts of Hyderabad and documented the history, culture, nature, food, art, and lesser-known places they encountered. Their findings were presented during the Sunday Meet through PowerPoint presentations, self-made videos, photographs, and creative collages.

The exploration was organised around five themes:

* Heritage Hunters – discovering Hyderabad’s historical landmarks and stories.

* Nature Explorers – exploring the city’s parks, green spaces, lakes, and natural surroundings.

* Food Trail – experiencing the food culture and distinctive flavours of Hyderabad.

* Art & Creativity – exploring the city’s artistic traditions, crafts, designs, and creative expressions.

* Hidden Gems – discovering lesser-known places, temples, and cultural landmarks that often remain unnoticed.

The presentations brought forward diverse discoveries, including Chowmahalla Palace, Kacheguda Railway Station, Sri Cheeryala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple at Koti, the Secunderabad stepwell, Cheeryala art and crafts, Ficus Garden, and several local food destinations.

The session also included personal research presentations on topics ranging from India’s global trade and partnerships to antennas and their applications and the impact of video editing on youth. A multilingual introduction activity, interactive games, and a Hyderabad quiz added an engaging dimension to the meet.

A key highlight was the address by Sahadev Sir, who encouraged participants to travel, explore, and develop greater awareness of the world around them. The discussion emphasised that exploring new places can broaden perspective, reduce stress, and create opportunities for learning beyond conventional classrooms.

The Know Your City experience demonstrated that a city is more than its roads and landmarks. Every place carries a story, and discovering those stories develops curiosity, cultural awareness, research skills, teamwork, and a deeper connection with one’s surroundings.

The meet concluded with reflections, a vote of thanks, and a group photograph, leaving participants with a simple takeaway: the more we explore our surroundings, the more we learn about the world—and ourselves.
