Soham Leaders at Devnar School for the Blind
On 12th July 2026, the Soham Leaders team visited Devnar School for the Blind, Begumpet.
Starting the Day with Positive Energy
The event opened with a Yoga Session, conducted separately for boys and girls under the guidance of our team members Through simple physical exercises and breathing techniques, the session set a calm, energized tone for the rest of the day — a gentle reminder that mindfulness needs no sight, only stillness and breath.
Building Awareness, Together
Next was the Personal Hygiene Awareness Session, again conducted separately by gender to keep the discussion comfortable and relevant. The session covered cleanliness and everyday hygiene practices in an open, conversational format. What stood out most was how interactive it became students asked genuine questions throughout, turning the session into a dialogue rather than a lecture.
Introductions and the Talent Segment
an open Talent Segment, where students were invited to showcase anything they wished — with almost no preparation time. What the team witnessed was remarkable. Student after student came forward with full confidence, performing mimicry, singing, and more. There was no hesitation, no shyness — just pure talent and self-assurance on display. The Soham Leaders team found themselves not teaching, but learning — inspired by the sheer courage and joy each performer brought to the stage.
Then we continued with Sahadev Sir s addressal, sir engaged directly with the students in a memorable way — asking them to identify people standing near them purely by sound and voice. The students responded with striking accuracy, guessing correctly again and again. It was a powerful, humbling moment for the team: a reminder that ability and perception take many different forms, and that these students possess a sharpness of senses that is nothing short of extraordinary.
The event wrapped up with a feedback round, where students openly shared their happiness and appreciation for the visit. Many expressed a simple, heartfelt request that the Soham Leaders team come back and visit again. It was a fitting close to a day built entirely on genuine connection.
