Gudi Initiative – A Day of Seva and Reflection

As part of the Gudi – Badi – Ooru initiative, the Sunday Meet was conducted at Sri Dattatreya Swamy Temple, Dattatreya Pahad, Sitaram Bagh. The temple, situated on a hilltop, is known for its long spiritual heritage of more than 500 years and is reached through a staircase of approximately 200 steps.
The morning began with a Cleaning Seva, where participants worked together to maintain different areas of the temple premises, including the surroundings of the Hanuman Temple, Navagraha Temple, the main Sri Guru Dattatreya Temple, the 200-step staircase, and the rear staircase area.
The seva provided a practical experience of teamwork, responsibility, discipline, and humility. It also offered an opportunity to understand that service can be expressed through simple actions and sincere effort.
Following the cleaning activity, the gathering continued with an introduction to the history and significance of the temple, followed by a devotional Keerthana session featuring Hanuman Chalisa, Ramachandraya Janaka, Garuda Gamana Tava, and Rama Nama Tarakam. The session also included Darshan and an inspiring address by Sahadev Sir, focusing on selfless giving, discipline, gratitude, and purposeful leadership.
The experience encouraged participants to look at leadership beyond formal roles—to understand it as a practice of serving, contributing, working together, and taking responsibility.
The meet concluded with reflections and a group photograph, marking a meaningful Sunday of seva, devotion, learning, and togetherness.
