Gandhi Jayanthi
Mahatma Gandhi is considered as the Father of the Nation in India and was commonly called ‘Bapu’. Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated on 2nd October and is declared as a National holiday. As Gandhi was a practitioner of Non-Violence, the UN declared the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi as “International Day of Non-Violence”.On this day, from the speeches given by our SLP Leaders, we learnt the movements that were led by Gandhi to bring freedom to India and the history of freedom fight. We learnt the way he influenced people to ask for their human rights in Africa. This enlightened us to imbibe the qualities of a leader.
