Essay Writing
We were all ready to learn and teach another interesting skill to the students and leaders, and that was – Essay Writing!! Have you remembered taking part in these competitions at a young age? Good. if you did!
Many competitions and contests are held in every student’s life so that they become better at what they are learning and deliver the best that they could do.
Identically, we felt Writing to be an important skill possessed by each and every individual and not merely by professional writers. Because it is a great tool for communicating our thoughts, ideas, and opinions, and that is something that everyone should be mastered at.
With the motive to make every student express their ideas, thoughts, beliefs, and opinions through their writings, we have initiated to educate them about Essay Writing skills.
Consequently, we made a short animation video on Essay Writing which included the following:
• What is an essay?
• How to write a good essay?
• Steps to write an essay.
• Parts of an essay.
We soon posted that in our common communication group where it was viewed by the students of 7,8,9 & 10th classes. They all learned the basics of it and were excited to take part in the Essay Writing Contest that was announced along with the video. We then, gave two topics and rules to be followed for the students to write an essay.
Topics:
1. Describe Yourself.
2. Describe Your Country.
A maximum Word Limit of 250 words was set and the participants were given a choice to choose one topic from the two options. The last date for submission of their essays was 25th Feb 2021 (Thursday) 7:00 PM
A good count of students have participants in the Essay Writing Contest and we were very happy to read all their essays about themselves and their country in their own words with the basics followed.
3 Best Essays were declared as the contest winners:
• First Prize – Amreen (Topic: Describe Myself)
• Second Prize – Rajitha (Topic: Describe Your Country)
• Third Prize – Rashmi (Topic: Describe Myself)
We conveyed our hearty congratulations to all the winners and cheered up other students to improve more with such competitions and grow better with a bundle of skills. Later, certificates were handed over to the winners on the Soham TalentOtsav, which was a pure joy for us to witness them learning and mastering a new skill.
