Dance Training
How colorful looks the photo…Isn’t it?!
34 students from our dearly associated school, have enrolled for the Dance Training initiated by Soham Academy in collaboration with Skills Committee. The training was initiated to make the students learn the art of doing our very own treasure – cultural and folk dances of our country. The students were given intensive training for 20 Days by generous dance tutors of a closely associated Dance Academy to perform on their School Science Day, which was also the 7th Soham TalentsOtsav. 1-2 hours of practice was held regularly after their school hours and was consistently coordinated by our Sir, Sri Sahadev Komaragiri, and some of the Soham leaders.
The 2 Dance Forms performed by the students were:
1. A Folk Dance which involved the students putting up pots on their head and performing the dance steps.
2. A Film Song – Ghoomar, which involved students performing more symmetrical and simultaneous moves in coordination.
Despite the considerable time the students had, they practiced to try harder and perform the best that they could. The event day had arrived in no time and all the girl students were dolled up in vibrant and colorful costumes with their bright sarees and impressive ornaments and it was a happy feast for all of us to watch. Undoubtedly, both the performances have received astounding applause from all the teachers, fellow students, and other guests. Their consistent practice had got them wonderful responses and feedbacks all with the dance tutor’s efforts, teaching & blessings. They all have thanked their dance masters for teaching them such amazing dance forms
With this spirit on the moment, we have announced the next dance training in the same school for other students and surprisingly, we had more students who showed interest to be part of it.
Indeed, it was a great day for all of us to bag this memory as part of our Soham Leadership Program.
