Book Title:THE TIPPING POINT : How Little Things Make a Big Difference

Author:Malcolm Gladwell

Being my first audiobook, the major change it brought in me is to replace songs with audiobooks ( not always, of course ). Just like how I have a book in hand while travelling, audiobooks have taken their place when I can’t read while travelling. The mere thought of gaining knowledge as you do menial tasks like cleaning up, rejuvenates me. Thank you Sahadev sir for gifting me this new experience and habit 🙂

Coming to the book itself, ” The Tipping Point : How Little Things Make a Big Difference ” is one of those books which will change the way you do things. After reading it, you will not just ‘do’ things, you will observe the process of it all !

Malcolm Gladwell has put in excellent examples after a deep, varied research. Reading this book will put you at a higher place than others. We all are well aware that the holistic approach of writing a book is what makes it invaluable to a reader : you get to know everything that took the author years to write about.

The Tipping Point defines the title in various instances of daily life, one such I shall reveal to you :
“The tipping point is that magic moment when an idea, trend, or social behavior crosses a threshold, tips, and spreads like wildfire.”

The author discloses and speaks about some harsh truths. If we realise and accept them, our lives are going to be effective with the right efforts. As Mr. Gladwell rightly says :
“To be someone’s best friend requires a minimum investment of time. More than that, though, it takes emotional energy. Caring about someone deeply is exhausting.”

It shows you how the little things and the weakest links are capable of bringing a huge change and who are responsible in different stages in this process. And lastly and most importantly, when this huge change will occur.
“Look at the world around you. It may seem like an immovable, implacable place. It is not. With the slightest push—in just the right place—it can be tipped.”

If you want to understand these paradoxical statements and probably, conflicting thoughts that you have, this debut book THE TIPPING POINT by Malcolm Gladwell from the 2000s is for you !
