MATHS QUIZ
Maths is all around us in everything we do. It is the building block for everything in our daily lives, including mobile devices, architecture (ancient and modern), art, money, engineering, and even sports. It is said that Mathematics is the Cradle of all creation, without which the world cannot move an inch. So true right?!
Anyone who has great skill at Mathematics is also a Mathematician, even if they work as a chef or taxi driver. National Mathematics Day 2020 – is celebrated on 22nd December every year to mark the birth anniversary of Legendary Indian Mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan and to commemorate the significance that the subject plays in our lives.
To celebrate the greatness of such a wonderful subject, we have organized a special Maths Quiz on National Mathematics Day to find out the knowledge of our students on the Fundamental of Maths Subject and to know how curious were the students to learn & do maths.
We shared a Google Form, which included 20 questions of different types – multiple-choice, short answers, checkboxes, true or false, and many more. A time limit of 10 mins was set to know the speed of students in solving the problems.
We opened the Quiz at 8:00 AM on the day and closed it again at 8:00 PM in the evening. Approximately, 40 students have participated, out of which many of them scored full marks. They all surprised us with their excitement and proved that they were strong at their foundation in the subject and how important they valued it as a life teaching subject.
Since there were many students who scored full marks, it became difficult for us to decide the top 3 winners and we had to finally consider the criteria of time taken for the students to solve.
The final winners were:
• 1st Winner – Bindusree – Xth Class – Vedic Vidyalayam School
• 2nd Winner – P. Sai Krishna Rao – VIIIth Class – Vedic Vidyalayam School
• 3rd Winner – Zoha Tabassum – Xth Class – CPL Amberpet School
We gave them cash prizes and certificates for their fabulous responses and appreciated all other students for their efforts and active participation.
