The Non-Violent Fighter

It was quite unique for all of us to celebrate the Gandhi Jayanti Occasion virtually but yet it was a simple and impactful program. We all recollected and reflected upon some of the noble and unprecedented qualities of the Father of the Nation – Sri Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.

The program started with a set of opening prayer slokas and the host extended a warm welcome to all the students, leaders, and teachers who have joined the celebrations. Jayasree, one of our leaders, had given an interesting and short oral presentation on why we celebrate Gandhi Jayanti and the major and milestone instances of Gandhiji’s life that led to Independence and big positive change in the country at large. There was a song sung in Telugu by one of our leaders praising the great qualities of Bapuji. An animated video was also played which featured the conversation between two friends, wherein one friend advices the other friend to imbibe the small and right qualities in us even which would contribute for a great living.
Then, we had an amazing video presentation which was a compilation of all the teachers and senior leaders sharing their favorite and most influential qualities of Gandhiji. You can take a look at the video below to listen to the illustrious qualities and learn to ingrain them in ourselves.

Finally, we had a presentation by our Sir, Sri Sahadev Komaragiri Garu on major incidents of Gandhi’s life, where he was humiliated on foreign land, brutally beaten in his own country, and mortified by the British while fighting for justice. We all learned the utmost patience and non-violent approach of Gandhi, which was an unparalleled trait ever in a person.
All the teachers have expressed their delight and honor to be part of the program and shared their musings on the occasion.

This event brought upon seeding a thought in every individual to inculcate the noble qualities of Bapuji, might not all but definitely some of them to see a change in the world. The program ended with the vote of thanks, closing prayer slokas, and a virtual group photo session thereafter.
